|The source of my painting comes from deep within my soul. By relying on personal experiences, emotions and visualization, I am able to find inspiration to begin a new creation.
The most involved elements of my creative process are color, movement and spatial relationship. Starting with an initial sketch in charcoal, large areas are painted in. At that point the work takes on its own form. By continuing to develop the shapes and establishing the interdependence between them, a continuity and flow develops. With additional direction, layers of paint, mixed media and glazes as needed, the painting becomes resolved.
My goal is to express myself in such a way as to evoke a response of curiosity and interest, resulting in a communication between the viewer and the work of art.
