|My art comes from a place where the inner world of thought, feeling and imagination and the outer world of sensory perception and experience intersect. A synthesis occurs at this intersection that generates concepts and ideas.
The concepts and concerns behind my work originate from my beliefs, my deepest truths. In the world around me I discover elements that help reveal and express my inner realities. The work evolves from an inner/outer dialogue, a kind of dance or momentum of back and forth movement with idea informing image and vice/versa.
My work is highly experimental, requiring me to seek the materials that feel right for fusing concept and image into a concrete reality. Often the momentum moves beyond the initial idea into new and exciting territory. Abstraction best serves my intentions. The recurring themes in my work focus on the experiences of growth and transformation that occur as life unfolds day to day. I reflect and search for deeper meaning from the significant events that influence my identity and perceptions. My art is both a reflection and an integral part of the quest.
